This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you ”Stuffed Peppers with Paleo Breadcrumbs.” Tonight we are looking for another classic dish, with a modern twist. This recipe starts off with peppers, wash ‘em up and clean ‘em out! Then we move onto our ground turkey, gobble gobble… Mix up that ground turkey with the herbs, salt, pepper, garlic, and Paleo Powder…. If you are a newbee to the Paleo Powder, you must try this wonderful product! It has a perfect blend of spices, and it’s also gluten and MSG free. And this is why we use it so often in our dishes, for that perfect Paleo spice! Next up, sauté the onions in a tablespoon of Paleo Butter, which is a lovely ghee from grass-fed cows. It goes great in a lot of meals, and also on our Paleo Bread™, bringing out the flavor every time! Now add that turkey mixture into the sautéed onions, and brown the mixture for five minutes over medium heat. Stuffing the peppers is next, and arrange the peppers in your crock-pot. Now, place tomatoes around the peppers in the crock-pot, and pour in your broth. Cook them up for about five hours, add your “Paleo Breadcrumbs” which I’ll explain in a minute, and enjoy!
Since Julian Bakery sells this great product called Paleo Bread™, we decided to toast some of the almond Paleo Bread™ up, and turn it into a tasty, yet healthy, breadcrumb! One that is lacking grains, soy, gluten, GMO’s, and packed with fiber and protein… Very simple, and no blood sugar spike like traditional breadcrumbs. So simple, a caveman could do it! Once that Paleo Bread™ was finely ground, I added a teaspoon of Paleo Powder and a pinch of sea salt to the mixture for a little extra flavor.
• 6 large peppers
• 2 lbs ground turkey
• 1 tbsp Paleo Butter
• 1 tbsp Paleo Powder
• 1 onion, minced
• 3 cloves garlic, crushed
• 2 cans diced tomatoes
• ½ cup broth
•1 tsp tbsp cumin
•1 tsp salt
• ½ tsp pepper
• 1 cup finely chopped fresh basil
• ½ cup finely chopped parsley
•1 tbsp dried oregano
• 1 slice almond Paleo Bread™
1) Wash peppers, cut the stem and clean inside.
2) Saute onions with Paleo Butter
3) Mix ground turkey with the herbs, salt, pepper, garlic, cumin and Paleo Powder.
4) Add ground turkey mixture to sautéed onions, and lightly brown for five minutes.
5) Stuff peppers, then arrange in crock-pot.
6) Place tomatoes around peppers in crock-pot, then cook on low for five hours.
7) Toast almond Paleo Bread™ and place in a blender on high… Turning it into breadcrumbs.
8) Add 1 tsp Paleo Powder to the breadcrumbs, and a pinch of sea salt.
9) Plate stuffed peppers and coat the tops with breadcrumbs.
• 10 minutes
• 5 hours
In the end, this dish turned out wonderful and I really loved the breadcrumb topping. As much as I felt horrible watching my little slice of Paleo Bread™ get pulverized in my blender, it was for a good cause…. And mixed up with some Paleo Powder, it was well worth it. And with Paleo Powder and other herbs mixed into the ground turkey, this was a very flavorful stuffed pepper overall.
