Smoked Salmon Paleo Wrap Bites

What started out as a wrap ended up as something else… Yet still good for the soul!  This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you ”Smoked Salmon Paleo Wrap Bites.”  I love wraps, but sometimes a plan can take a slight detour.  That’s what happened today, as Julian Bakery’s Paleo Wraps allow you to morph your meals into different shapes and forms.  Like I said in the related video, I’m no sushi chef (obviously!) but this wasn’t hard to make, and it was delicious!!!!!!  Meanwhile, carbs are kept to a minimum, healthy fats were prevalent, nutritious veggies were prominent, and sugar was extremely low as well!

I start this meal out with food prep, slicing and dicing some heirloom tomato, an onion, getting half an avocado ready, and my capers set aside…. Then my Paleo Wraps come out of the pantry, ready for action!  With just four net carbs, no GMO’s, soy, gluten, dairy, grains, or starch, they are the ultimate wrap for the job!  Next up, some smoked salmon from WholeFoods, which didn’t have added sugar and was one of the main reasons why I chose this over other brands.  Sugar is the enemy, I know it’s tasty, but it’s like a drug….  Once you keep it to a minimum for a while, you’ll notice real fruits and even veggies are sweet as they come.  Plus, there are other healthier sugars, sweeteners, and alternatives using Xylitol out there as well.

  1. Lay out Paleo Wraps (I like two for added taste and strength, especially with wet ingredients)

  2. Spread out your smoked salmon, then onion, tomato, avocado, capers, and top with dressing.

  3. Carefully and tightly roll to form a sushi roll.  When you reach the end, in order to allow the Paleo Wrap to stick to itself you can wet the end using water and your finger.

  4. Slice as you wish, and plate.

  5. In a small bowl, add Coconut Aminos as a nice dipping sauce.

It worked.  This was so tasty, it’s not even funny.  No salt was needed, but if you wanted some, keep it clean with a real salt.  The dressing from Tessamae was a nice touch, and I’m glad we found a Paleo/Vegan off the shelf dressing.  We do make our own, but sometimes you need a break from the kitchen and some retail therapy too!  The Coconut Aminos made a perfect dipping sauce as well; with tons of vitamins, amino acids, and stuff that’s just plain good for you!  Plus it’s the best soy replacement on the planet, tastes similar to it, yet none of the estrogen-mimicking properties that we are trying to avoid!

So if this looks like something you could enjoy, (and I’m betting it is!!!) then take a stroll to and order your Paleo Wraps, Coconut Aminos, and any other products that stand out and make you want to take another step towards healthier.  Thanks for stopping by to check out this Paleo food blog, I hope you enjoyed it, and please come again!
