Paleo Tortilla: Ham And Cheese Burrito

Okay, let’s take a ham and cheese to the next level, using some awesome Julian Bakery products!  This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a ”Primal Ham & Cheese Burrito.”  Julian Bakery sent me prototype Paleo Tortilla/Burrito versions of the Paleo Wrap.  Since the Paleo Wrap has already become a hit, why not take them even further, so we can enjoy more foods in different ways?  So today I’m going to take the average ham and cheese and make it into your not-so-average meal.

Same great non-GMO and organic ingredients, just bigger!  I take the Paleo Tortilla and start loading it up with four slices of organic and uncured ham, some raw goat cheese, Paleo Mayo from the 500 Paleo Recipes cookbook, and some funky vegetable that I picked up from the Farmer’s Market just yesterday…. It’s called “purslane”, and apparently its chock full of goodness; like a ton of omega-3’s, Vitamin A, B, and C.  So I figured why not give it a shot?  When it comes to seasoning this meal, I’m reaching for Quantum Nutrition Pink Salt and black pepper… Nothing fancy, just good ole nutrients without the clumping agents found in other salts.  And it’s a blend of two salts; pure Mediterranean sea salt and pink Alaea Hawaiian sea salt which supply critical trace elements.

• 1 Paleo Tortilla (Coming Soon Oct 2013) For Now Use Paleo Wraps

Quantum Nutrition Pink Salt and black pepper to taste

• 1 tbsp Paleo Mayo from the 500 Paleo Recipes cookbook

This was a delicious breakfast burrito, one that had ample nutrients, no GMO’s, lots of great tastes, and not a ton of calories or carbs.  I calculated 437 calories, 9 net carbs, and 28 grams of protein, which isn’t bad for a meal of this proportion.  I really enjoyed the combination of the light coconut from the Paleo Tortilla, along with the Paleo Mayo and that Quantum Nutrition Pink Salt…  And now that I’ve gotten a taste of the purslane, I’m a fan for life.  I’m always open to trying new things, especially when they are healthy and delicious…. Which is why I am a huge fan of Julian Bakery!  It all started with their Paleo Bread, and the Paleo insanity took off from there!!  Realizing that I could eat well, not suffer the consequences by avoiding gluten, grains, soy and GMO’s, and still enjoy something that tasted great, I have become a customer for life!

And now that Julian Bakery is considering a Paleo Tortilla, I am even more a fan!  It still has that amazing taste, strength, and nutrition that the Paleo Wrap has, except you can do that much more with it!  Split it and share it with a friend, keep it all for yourself so you can ensure that you are getting enough for that tough workout, or just enjoy different foods in different ways!  Whatever it is, it’s your choice, and hopefully these lovely Paleo Tortillas will be on the market soon!

Thanks for taking the time out of your hectic day to preview this “Primal Ham & Cheese Burrito”.  If it looks good on your end, that’s because it was that good on my end!  I enjoyed it and I’m sure you would too, so have an open mind, and try it out!  Go to to get the Paleo products used to make this come together, and have a wonderful day!
