Paleo Shrimp Sandwich Recipe

Here’s a shrimp meal that Forrest Gump completely forgot to mention….   This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a ”Paleo Shrimp Sandwich.”  Forrest could’ve run much quicker, played ping-pong harder, and just felt better had he gone Paleo.  I know I certainly feel better, and I maintain that good feeling with Paleo Bread, and other fine Paleo products thanks to Julian Bakery.  Typical breads have gluten, grains, soy, GMO’s, and other ingredients that would spike my insulin levels, and cause me to get inflamed and suffer from my auto-immune issues.  I don’t want that, plain and simple.  And this is why Paleo Bread is my bread of choice, from a simple sandwich to Paleo French Toast!  Today’s meal is a “Paleo Shrimp Sandwich”, using all of the freshest ingredients around, organic as much as possible, and that equates to being as healthy as possible. 

Starting off with some fresh shrimp from the market, which get combined with some great ingredients like Paleo Powder and Himalayan Salt.  Both of those items can be found at www.JulianBakery.com/Paleo and both items will bring a ton of flavor to just about any meal!  We are also bringing great flavor to this meal with celery, shallot, sesame, and ginger too!  And with our Paleo Mayo from the Well Fed cookbook, we have a natural, organic, Paleo Mayo that is tasty and good for ya! 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • ¼ lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ tsp Sunfood Super Foods Fine Himalayan Salt
  • 2 slices Almond Paleo Bread
  • 2 tsp finely chopped celery
  • 1 tbsp Paleo Mayo
  • ½ tsp finely chopped shallots
  • ½ tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Red Leaf Lettuce leaf
  • Paleo Powder to sprinkle

INSTRUCTIONS:

1)      Heat skillet over medium-high heat.

2)      Add sesame oil to pan, swirl to coat.

3)      Add ginger and cook for 1 minute.

4)      Add shrimp, sprinkle ¼ tsp Himalayan Salt and Paleo Powder

5)      Cook shrimp for 3 minutes, or until done.  Keep warm.

6)      Toast Paleo Bread

7)      In a small bowl combine and stir celery, Paleo Mayo, ¼ tsp Himalayan Salt, shallots, and lemon juice. 

8)      When Paleo Bread is done, place red leaf lettuce on bottom slice, top with Paleo Mayo mixture, add shrimp, and finish off sandwich with second slice of Paleo Bread.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Makes: 1 Sandwich

When I sat down to enjoy this great sandwich, I truly savored each and every bite.  I experienced a nice crisp crunch from the lettuce as well as the Paleo Bread, a ginger flare, and a creamy yet spicy taste from the mayo and the shrimp.  Healthy protein, healthy fats, some great veggies, as well as 84 trace minerals from the Himalayan Salt, all incorporated into this meal right here!
