Paleo Macaroons™ (Low Carb) By The Julian Bakery

Paleo Nate here to introduce to you all, the Paleo Macaroons™ from the Julian Bakery. This happens to be another low carb food that I picked up for a dessert option. These Paleo macaroons rock! Most importantly, they don’t affect my blood sugar levels and they only have 2 net carbs per serving! The macaroons are perfect for my Paleo lifestyle and I plan on consuming many more of them.

 The reason they are so sweet? Erythritol. What is it? Here you go. I found this explanation on

             “Erythritol is the sugar alcohol (polyol) that has the least impact on blood sugar. Erythritol has almost zero calories, carbs, and glycemic index. The reason is a bit different that most sugar alcohols, which are only partially absorbed in the small intestine. Most (60-90%) of the erythritol is absorbed into the blood, but is then excreted in the urine. Because of this, erythritol tends to produce much less intestinal distress than other sugar alcohols.”

 I’m sold. These treats are high in fiber, grain free and dairy free. Perfect for how I need to eat these days.
