Paleo Macaroons™ (Low Carb) By The Julian Bakery

Paleo Nate here to introduce to you all, the Paleo Macaroons™ from the Julian Bakery. This happens to be another low carb food that I picked up for a dessert option. These Paleo macaroons rock! Most importantly, they don’t affect my blood sugar levels and they only have 2 net carbs per serving! The macaroons are perfect for my Paleo lifestyle and I plan on consuming many more of them.

The reason they are so sweet? Erythritol. What is it? Here you go. I found this explanation on lowcarbdiets.about.com:

“Erythritol is the sugar alcohol (polyol) that has the least impact on blood sugar. Erythritol has almost zero calories, carbs, and glycemic index. The reason is a bit different that most sugar alcohols, which are only partially absorbed in the small intestine. Most (60-90%) of the erythritol is absorbed into the blood, but is then excreted in the urine. Because of this, erythritol tends to produce much less intestinal distress than other sugar alcohols.”

I’m sold. These treats are high in fiber, grain free and dairy free. Perfect for how I need to eat these days. Paleo Macaroons are made with organic coconut macaroon flake, cage free egg whites, Inulin derived from Agave, Erythritol, organic coconut flour, and natural flavors. At only 45 calories per serving, I can enjoy a few and not feel guilty. I can’t wait to get my family hooked on them as well.

Be sure to pick some up at the Julian Bakery either in La Jolla, CA or online at JulianBakery.com and let know what you think. I’m telling ya. You won’t be able to stop at one. And at $10.99 per box online, they are a cheap and healthy way to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Thanks Julian Bakery. This is a game changer!
