“Navitas Naturals Dragonfruit Slices” Superfruits rock, I love ‘em!!! And these Dragonfruit Slices are no exception. Julian Bakery started offering these in their Paleo section, and I’m glad I gave them a whirl because they are oh so tasty! They come from small family farms in Thailand, and they are super exotic looking as well. Some may say exotic, some may say alien-like…. But either way, they are delicious and apparently they work very well in a smoothie too!
Today I decided to blend them up and make a protein shake, using a few other great items that I scooped up from www.JulianBakery.com/Paleo to make a killer shake. So along with four slices of the Navitas Naturals Dragonfruit, I start off this smoothie with a scoop of Original Paleo Protein, which is non-GMO, all natural, and in my honest opinion – the best protein powder around. I have had zero issues with it, and possibly enhanced immune and gut function due to the probiotics that Paleo Protein includes. Next on the list I threw in a tablespoon of the best nut butter blend I have ever purchased; Paleo MeeNut Butter. If you haven’t tried this stuff, it’s definitely one for the bucket-list! It’s so smooth and has a nice taste and texture, made from four different nuts, and has no sugar or peanuts! I then added a tablespoon of the Sunfoods Superfoods Goji Berries, the softest and plumpest (is that a word??) goji berries I have ever come across. And like the Dragonfruit, they have a ton of antioxidants and nutrients that are jam packed in there to give you lots and lots of benefits. That is what Paleo is all about, right? Tons of nutrients to make you healthier and stronger! Finally I finish this smoothie off with a banana, a cup of coconut water, and additional water to get the right consistency.
• 1 scoop Original Flavor Paleo Protein
• 4 slices Navitas Naturals Dragonfruit Slices
• 1 tbsp Sunfoods Superfoods Goji Berries
• 1 tbsp Paleo MeeNut Butter
• 1 cup coconut water
• 1 banana
• additional water for your desired consistency
1) Add all ingredients into blender
3) Add water if necessary to get your desired consistency
4) Pour and enjoy! Prep Time:
• 2 minutes
• 30 seconds
• 1 large glass
It was love at first sip, absolutely delicious and it had a really cool red color to it. Supposedly these Dragonfruit Slices are of the sweeter red variety, all I know is they are an awesome fruit snack!! They taste great, kids will love them, they are easily portable, and they have tons of nutrition. What’s not to love? It’s like a fruit roll up, without the GMO’s, other nasty stuff, and they are actually good for you!
