Mint Ground Venison Paleo Wrap (Keto / Low Carb / Gluten Free)

Mint, today’s herb of the day!  This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a “Mint Ground Venison Paleo Wrap”.  As I’m pulling weeds in my flower bed this morning, getting some fresh air, barefooted and earthing/grounding, I notice my mint growing wild and out of control.  That sparked a great breakfast combination!  Fresh mint has so many health benefits, but more importantly it tastes incredible!  So fresh, so powerful, and so good!  And with some fresh ground venison and veggies, I think it’ll make a savory breakfast, wrapped up in a Paleo Wrap from Julian Bakery!

Mint is able to assist with allergies, helps with digestion, can help with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and even provide benefit to the common cold and sore throat.  Right now, I’m just thinking “This is going to be an awesome meal!”  We’ve got the fresh mint, freshly hunted venison, some organic mushrooms, sliced up red onion, and a couple seasonings; ground black pepper, and some Quantum Pink Salt which is a blend of Pink Alaea Hawaiian and Mediterranean Sea Salt.  Quantum Pink Salt also lacks flowing/clumping agents (such as aluminum hydroxide, refined sugar, stearic acid, sodium ferrocyanide, calcium phosphate).  It’s the perfect salt for our Paleo and low-carb meal, since it’s truly an unrefined, premium salt that provides health benefits and trace minerals.

Ingredients:

  • Paleo Wraps
  • 2 lbs ground venison
  • 1 TBSP mint leaves, coarsely chopped

¼ red onion, chopped

Directions:

1)      Mix ground venison, mushrooms, onions, and mint together in a medium sized bowl.  If you want to make this into burgers, I’d probably add an egg and maybe some coconut/almond flour or even ground flaxseed to thicken it up and allow it to stick together better.

2)      Season with some salt and pepper, then add to your warmed skillet with Garlic Nuco Liquid Premium Coconut Oil.

3)      Allow to brown, keep turning, and when fully cooked, give it a taste and season again if needed.

4)      Add ground beef/veggies to your Paleo Wraps, and enjoy!

Now you are probably wondering why I didn’t sauté the veggies first…..  Since venison is a very lean meat, I figured the veggies shouldn’t be as cooked in order to reap some of the moisture that they possess.  Honestly, it worked!  The mint stood out and gave the venison an interesting flavor, and the veggies added that soft, tender touch that the meal deserved.  All the while, we’re enjoying this in a Paleo Wrap that is not just low in carbs and calories, but also lacking GMO’s, gluten, soy, dairy, grains, starch and added salt.  Paleo Wraps are such a wonderful addition to just about any meal, and it’s the perfect way to wrap things up!  They are strong, flexible, portable, and made with just a few healthy ingredients; coconut meat, coconut water, and unrefined virgin coconut oil, that is it!!!!!!!!  And remember, they provide our bodies and minds with MCT’s (Medium Chain Triglycerides) which help ketone production and are the fuel of choice for the brain and heart as well.
