A little of this, a little of that…. Here’s a delicious Julian Bakery spread to make a perfect Paleo snack! This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a “Choco-MeeNut-Manna Spread”. I don’t normally snack, I generally eat two or three solid Paleo or Primal meals each day and that’s that. But when I do snack, I try to make it count with something super enjoyable. And that’s why today’s snack is using a combination of three of my favorite Paleolicious items from Julian Bakery!
I decided to start toasting some Paleo Bread; one slice of coconut and one slice of almond, because I couldn’t pick just one! They are both low in calories and carbs, and also void of GMO’s, gluten, grains, soy, and yeast. Plus, with a little protein and fiber in there, you’ll be able to stay full and satiated, while keeping the amount you consume down a bit. It’s the only bread that I dare to consume, with my autoimmune issues that I have been slowly overcoming the past couple years through diet. Any other bread will have me sprawled out on the couch in pain. With my Paleo Bread, I’m busting out some Paleo Chocolate, some Paleo MeeNut Butter, and some Nutiva Coconut Manna to create a delicious spread!
- Julian Bakery’s Paleo Bread (Almond or Coconut)
- ½ bar Paleo Chocolate
- 1 TBSP Coconut Manna
- 2 TBSP Paleo MeeNut Butter
1) Toast Paleo Bread in toaster oven to your desired toastness…
3) Stir well, and when melted, add to Paleo Bread and spread evenly.
Makes: Enough for about 4 slices of Paleo Bread
In the decade or so, I’ve learned that dark chocolate is good for you… We’ve all been told this, but what they fail to mention is that you should look for a quality, organic dark chocolate. One that is soy free, lecithin free, and also gluten free…. And while you’re at it, check out the sugar content, because if it’s loaded with sugar, it isn’t going to do you any favors when it comes to health benefit. Paleo Chocolate is in my opinion, the perfect dark chocolate. And, it’s GMO free too! I’ve searched high and low, and this is it folks! Plus, it comes in Mint and Orange, and is sugar free since it’s sweetened with Stevia!
When it comes to coconut, I am totally absolutely in love with just about any and every (real) form of it. But Coconut Manna from Nutiva takes the win, with its super creamy consistency when it melts, or when it’s chunky right out of the jar. It is non-GMO, does not require refrigeration, made from organic whole coconut, and melts in temps above 72 degrees. One tablespoon equates to one net carb, nine grams of healthy fat, and one hundred calories of coconut deliciousness….
And last but not least, Paleo MeeNut Butter is a superior blend of four delicious nuts; Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans and Macadamia Nuts…. And it contains Flax Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Pure Vanilla Extract, and Sea Salt. No sugar, no peanuts, no disappointment! In each jar you’ll find a wonderful creamy nut butter that is going to satisfy anyone except those with a nut allergy. Unfortunately they are missing out….
This “Choco-MeeNut-Manna Spread”on Paleo Bread was yummy, filling, satisfied that sweet craving that I had, and was Paleo!! It was hard to pinpoint the exact flavor that stood out, if anything it might’ve been the chocolate. But the creaminess and lovely flavors from both the Coconut Manna and the MeeNut Butter were right there. You could always adjust the levels to your satisfaction, but I think this was a great starting point to keep just about all of you smiling! My slice of coconut Paleo Bread with this lovely spread ended up being 186 calories, just 4.5 net carbs, 8.7 grams of protein, and only 1.9 grams of sugar!! Plus, it has 13.9 grams of healthy fats, which I’m all about!
I hope you enjoyed this “Choco-MeeNut-Spread” and in order to make this treat, go to www.JulianBakery.com/Paleo and order up these wonderful Paleo products! And when you aren’t melting them together, make sure you try a piece of Paleo Chocolate dipped into some MeeNut Butter, with a chunk of Coconut Manna on top!
