Eating clean doesn’t have to be complex or time consuming, and with the help from the Primal Power Method, I’ll show you a simple, delicious and filling meal option! This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you my version of Gary Collins’ ”Guiltless Paleo Wrap”. Sometimes you just need a break, with all of the fancy Paleo possibilities out there, cooking can get to you after a while. But every now and then you stumble across a meal that is made with healthy ingredients, one that is so scrumptious, but takes just minutes to make!
That happened to me just this morning… After searching for the perfect meal to kick off my day, I picked up my copy of Primal Power Method and starting slicing and dicing my tomato and avocado. I love the fact that Gary suggests a Paleo Wrap right there in the recipe. Well, he was a Special Agent for the FDA, so he knows what’s up! After reading this two book combo I was able to further my healthy food and mind knowledge. I took my Paleo (and Primal) to the next level. And I’ve enjoyed quite a few tasty meals thanks to Gary as well!
Using the best of products, like cheese from Kerrygold, nitrate and nitrite free ham from Applegate, and Quantum Pink Salt from Quantum Nutrition Labs, we are ensuring this meal has less of the bad and more of the good. Like a salt that is free of anti-caking agents and in its purest form. Like a ham that you can buy at the store that lacks antibiotics and hormones. Like a raw cheese that was from grass-fed cows. And like the Paleo Wrap that is gluten free, grain free, soy and GMO free, as well as starch and yeast free!
- Paleo Wrap
- 2 slices organic nitrate free ham
- ½ medium avocado, diced
- 2 TBSP raw cheese, I used Blarney Castle gouda, Gary recommended cheddar
- ½ medium diced tomato
- 1 TBSP stone-ground mustard
- Quantum Pink Salt and black pepper to taste
1) Add all ingredients to Paleo Wrap as you wish.
2) Season with salt and pepper.
3) Add oil of your choice if you wish.
4) Wrap that bad boy up and you are ready to go!
Oh my, that fresh avocado and tomato combined always work well together…. And with the light taste of coconut from the Paleo Wrap mixed in, you can never go wrong. This meal equates to roughly 500 calories, 38 grams of (healthy) fat, only 8.5 grams of net carbs, 28 grams of protein, and just 7 grams of sugar. Looking at the macronutrient breakdown, we have a nice layout…. 65.1% fat, 21.5% protein, and 13.4% carbs. This is one of those meals that keeps you going, and puts you in ketosis. If you aren’t in ketosis, you’ll notice this meal keeps you filled for longer periods of time thanks to some healthy fats, quality organic proteins, and carbs from produce (not grains). It’ll allow you to switch off that sugar-burner mode and start burning fat. It’ll get your brain fueled with ketones, rather than glucose…. You will see changes, positive ones. And you won’t have the need to find a snack in an hour!
