Fresh Fig & Cake Battered Paleo Waffle Recipe

One of my all-time favorite fruits to enjoy is fresh fig…  It’s not around much around here, but when it’s in season I’m all over it!  This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a “Fresh Fig & Cake Battered Paleo Waffle”.  As a child I was given fresh figs right off the tree and I can still recall that feeling for something that Mother Nature could provide.  It’s a taste like no other fruit, and I think it’ll be a great paring with a nice nut butter and some Paleo Waffles from Julian Bakery!

Paleo Waffles are incredibly fluffy, they taste awesome, and guess what…. They have no GMO’s, gluten, grains, soy, or other nasty ingredients.  Plus, a half a Paleo Waffle has just 180 calories, only 4 net carbs, and delivers 10 grams of protein!  I always love the thick, Belgian style shape they come in too!  And today, I’m in the mood to enjoy them with my fresh figs, and some insanely delicious Coco-Nut White Chocolate Cake Batter Spread.

Call me crazy, but I actually am an avid fan of fresh figs with nut butter.  It just works, and since both are healthy options, I’m going for it!  The Coco-Nut White Chocolate Cake Batter Spread is low in carbs, GMO free, soy free, gluten free, dairy free, and its Paleo and Vegan!  It’s made up of Cashew Butter (Dry Roasted Cashews), Organic Coconut Butter (Organic Dried Unsweetened Coconut), Organic Cacao Butter, Organic Coconut Palm Sugar Syrup, Pure Vanilla Bean Powder, and Sea Salt.

  1. Toast Paleo Waffle
  2. When toasted to your liking, top with Coco-Nut White Chocolate Cake Batter Spread.
  3. Add fresh figs, and pour on some Nature’s Hollow Sugar-Free Maple Syrup and enjoy!

We are topping this heavenly creation with some Nature’s Hollow Sugar-Free Maple Syrup.  It’s sugar free, since it’s sweetened with Xylitol (a trusty natural sweetener that also helps strengthen teeth and gums), while also being low in carbs.  We’ve got quite a combination of flavors, textures, and yet the overall sugar and carb count is quite low.  Most of the carbs and sugars come from the fresh figs, but on the flip side they are packed with potassium, copper, manganese, iron and fiber.  In addition, fresh figs contain adequate levels of some of the anti-oxidant vitamins such as vitamin A, E, and K.
